Different Types of Queues in Java 

In Java, a Queue is a data structure that follows the FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principle. Java provides several queue implementations in the java.util and java.util.concurrent packages, each suited for different use cases.

1. LinkedList

  • Implements both List and Queue interfaces.

  • Can be used as a simple queue or deque.

  • Allows null elements.

  • Not thread-safe.

2. PriorityQueue

  • Elements are ordered based on natural ordering or a custom comparator.

  • Doesn’t allow null elements.

  • Not thread-safe.

  • Useful for priority-based processing.

3. ArrayDeque

  • A resizable array that implements a deque (double-ended queue).
